The courthouse is a place where many different people come daily, each with their own reason and story. From complex to simple matters.

The work I have created for this exhibition consists of 25 different paintings, each based on one letter of the alphabet, from a to z. Each letter depicts its own story. Everything you see in the painting consists of the same letter. A large prominent letter in the middle filled with many smaller versions of that letter, allowing you to keep getting lost in the work and letting your imagination run wild.

With my work, I aim to challenge the viewer to ask themselves questions.

What am I actually looking at?

As the viewer spends more time looking at my work, they start to recognize letters. From that point, the viewer tries to “read” what is written.

After a while, the letters form other shapes and the viewer also begins to see other things.
