Deconstructing Letters – A Workshop in Typography & Abstraction

Pakje Kunst – Small Surprises, Big Concepts

For Pakje Kunst, a project where miniature artworks are sold through repurposed cigarette machines, I created multiple works exploring typography, abstraction, and storytelling in a compact format.

One of my contributions was a series of 26 mini-artworks, each featuring a single letter of the alphabet. With every pack being a surprise, the experience of collecting and discovering these letters became part of the artistic concept—each piece standing alone yet connected to the full series.

In addition, I participated in the Mini & Maxi exhibition, where artists created both a large and a small artwork. My approach was to make the small piece a puzzle piece of the larger work, visually linking them so they always remain part of a greater whole.

Beyond creating, I also led workshops focused on the abstraction of letterforms, inviting participants to experiment with typography as visual language. Together, we explored how letters could dissolve into patterns, shifting between readable and abstract.

This project was a celebration of unexpected discovery, playfulness, and the endless possibilities of letterforms as art.
